Explore Summer

This month the Design Team at UmWowStudio got to mix it up a bit and combine the UWS goodies with some fancy shmancy stuff from Gauche AlchemyGauche Alchemy is one of the swankiest shops online.  They have about a million types of punchinella (the hole-y strip left over from making sequins), awesome color kits with bits and pieces of ephemera, washi tape galore, and more.

I got myself the color kits in yellow and blue, some ouchless cardboard, several washi tape rolls, and some punchinella:

I paired the awesomesauce GA swag with a couple of layered arrows, the guy from the potty people set, and the “love this” chipboard from UmWowStudio.

And did you guys see that molding paste on there??  I used it over some large dot punchinella to give a little texture and interest to the kraft background.  Not too shabby for someone scared off all this mixed media business, right!?

These companies were seriously a perfect pairing!!

Annnnnd ::gasp:: UmWowStudio is sponsoring the newest theme at Paper Issues!  You NEED to check out the other UWS inspiration and link up projects with chipboard.  You can also enter to win a whole TON of gift certificates to get your very own UmWowStudio goodies!  Check out the Paper Issues blog for the deets.

Color Wash and Snow Village

Pink Paislee continues to roll out the new collections this week with Color Wash and Snow Village:
      Color  Snow

Color Wash is so soft and gives you that cool watercolor look without all the hard work.  Snow Village is one of my favorite Christmas releases ever, ever! The gold foil accents are going to blow you away!

I got a chance to play with some Snow Village for the CHA show:

Wildflowers

The UmWowStudio chipboard flowers have been calling to me for a while now and this month I decided to do a couple of cards with these little beauties.  I busted out an old favorite: Crate Paper’s Restoration.  I still love this collection and the muted colors coordinated so well with the awesome kraft-iness of the naked chipboard.

Hey Kid!

Pink Paislee is rolling out some fabulous new collections for the summer CHA show and first up today is Hey Kid, a line for kids that is super fun without being “cutesy” (finally!)

Even better, the line manages to combine goodies for both boys and girls and they easily mix for those of us with kids of both genders!  Check out what I created with this line for the show:

All that glitters is gold

I’ve been impatiently waiting to share this one with you guys for months now.  I think it is one of my favorite cards I’ve ever made and it’s packed with gilded goodness.  You can see this in the Summer 2013 issue of PaperHaus magazine.

Enjoy the Journey card

I used Pink Paislee’s Hope Chest and a whole ton o’ gold Luxe on here.  Those awesome chipboard hexagons you see? THOSE are the layered chip bits from UmWowStudio and you clearly need some.  I covered them is Heidi Swapp’s Gold Lame Color Shine and now they positively SPEAK to me… mmmm hmmm!

The coiled flower, canvas, and charm are from Prima, the muslin flower is Heidi Swapp, the pins are Maya Road, and the wood butterflies are the Recollections brand at Michael’s.

I never knew I could love metallics like this!

Let them eat cake

The industry CHA summer trade show is almost upon us and I have been busier than a one armed paper hanger (what IS that, anyway, Mom??) but I’m pausing in the madness to remind you to link up to the latest Paper Issues theme: Hey Good Lookin’, What’s Cookin’?

In case you missed it on the Pink Paislee blog last week here’s my Sweet Tooth layout… a boy after his mother’s cupcake loving heart.
